Our readers react to the letter from the Canadian "humanist" I reviewed this person’s Web site pictures (Wedding Pics) and would like to comment on them. Please do not judge all gays by the actions of this idiot. I am also a gay man in a long term relationship, Cuban born, and one of the Pedro Pan children, that as a Democrat “do not” support Mr. Obama. After the life and political events experienced due to the Castro regime, I am appalled by this person’s comments about our country today. My father (RIP) spent 14 years in Cuban jails fighting for our freedom. Obviously, this person spent a few days in Cuba enjoying a nice honeymoon or vacation. Spend time there outside of the “Hotel environment” to experience “Real Cuba” and you will come to your senses about the current situation. Shame on you! Thank you for writing. As I said on my response to that person, I don't like to generalize. There are good and bad of everything, including Cubans, Americans, Canadians, liberals, conservatives, gay, straight, etc ==== HI GEORGE , I AM LEFT SPEECHLESS WITH THIS CANADIAN IDIOT THAT WROTE TO YOU ABOUT HIS SO CALLED REAL CUBA . WHAT UPSETS ME THE MUST IS HOW THEY CALL CUBA A 3RD WORLD COUNTRY , WHILE I KNOW THAT THIS IS TRUE NOW A DAYS ( THANKS TO THE CASTRO GANG ) I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM HIM THAT WAS NOT ALWAYS THE CASE AND THAT CUBA IN MANY WAYS ( BEFORE THAT CASTRO-ATION) WAS AHEAD OF THE UNITED STATES AND A LOT OF THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD . AT ONE POINT OUR PESO WAS WORTH MORE THAT THE US DOLLAR . THAT OUR COUNTRY , TODAY, IS CALLED A 3RD WORLD COUNTRY IS REALLY A SHAME . THAT OUR CUBAN BROTHERS AND SISTER'S LIVE IN THE MISERY THAT THEY ARE FORCED TO LIVE IS A BIGGER SHAME . YOUR WEBSITE IS GREAT ! BUT WE CAN SIT HERE AND TRY TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION IN CUBA UNTIL WE ARE BLUE IN THE FACE , BUT I THINK ONLY A REAL CUBAN WILL BE ABLE TO TRULY COMPREHEND . YOUR EFFORT IN DOING THIS ARE ABOVE AND BEYOND , KEEP UP THE GREEEEEEEAT JOB . ONE DAY WILL BE WRITING THIS IN A FREE CUBA ! ( GOD WILLING SOON) THANKS .DM ====== As a Canadian I want to apologize to everyone for having such a moron and imbecile like that so called "humanist" in this country. Maybe she should learn something else than 4 languages. I bet she is from Quebec. D. B. ====== Thank you for reporting the truth about the reality of Cuba and what our fellow Cubans are suffering in the island. People like that Canadian Communist Humanist need to open their eyes and look at the reality. I just got one thing to say to Canadian Humanist: Burra!!!I bet you support Chavez, Evo and Ortega too!! Open your eyes, Canadians those people are exploiting the natives and they are becoming rich in the process. I thought I should share with you the links to the webpage of the so called Canadian Humanist: http://www.dcdh.ca/DCDH/Our_World_-_Dieter_%26_Colville.html Thank you for all your work!! You are one true Cuban Patriot! Thanks, Alex M. In the letter that this person sent to me he said that the problems of Cuba should be resolved by Cubans and that the United States should not get involved. But on the link that you sent me, I can see that he doesn't follow what he preaches because there is a lot of pro-Obama propaganda in it. Why is a Canadian involved in an election for a US president? Very hypocritical, in my honest opinion, but not surprising. George ====== Is this Canadian "humanist" kidding me? She's a foreigner who is being shown what the communists want her to see. Obviously she has no family there. Who don't have much. Or their houses are falling apart. Or don't have a telephone. Shall I keep going???? I feel sick to my stomach reading all the stupidity she has written. Q.B. Is a "he," not a she. I got confused when he talked about having a husband, but these are confusing times. ===== (I like your site and read it everyday.) Comrade Dieter is a Communist but still chooses to live in Canada. There are several red countries left for you to immigrate to, Dieter. You can share your things and love of their system with them. Cuba really needs help now after 50 years of mad and bad management by castro, and two hurricanes. A wiser person than I, said something like: Capitalism shares blessings while Communism shares misery. Please go to Cuba to live the good life, Dieter. Cooker
A baffling paradox A baffling paradox – Cubans clamor for liberty from the tyranny of a socialist state while an ever-increasing number of US citizens, principally la farándula estadounidense, fawn over the likes of El Che, Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. A bewildering fascination with Barak Hussein Obama, who could become U.S. President, denies facts and history. Obama enjoys more than celebrity status in his own country, socialist leaders throughout the world endorse him, including Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez and Evo Morales. I fear Obama’s election would prolong the regime of los castristas. One person wrote he disagrees with the travel limitations on Cuban ex-patriots living in the USA. If Obama becomes president and his party gains a 60-vote senate majority, he can be sure the US government will lift the travel ban. I expect an almost immediate end to the trade embargo and extension of credit to the Cuban communist government. Unlimited free trade and a free flow of tourism will certainly prop up the tyrannical government or decades to come. The Real Cuba is one of my daily news sources. Cuban friends who have become familiares exchange cautious email with us. Open and frank communications either come through letters carried out of the country and mailed to me or await our personal visits. My wife and I have a God-given love for the people of Cuba. We admire their ability to overcome insane government regulation, their inventiveness and their sense of humor. Two young women we informally “adopted” as daughters have never met one another, but, by faith, one day they will travel freely between our home and Cuba. It is written, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free”. Your extraordinary website continues to expose truth. Someday, Cubans will salute you as a genuine hero of the next Cuban revolution. (Name withheld by request) Thanks for your genuine love of the Cuban people and for your nice remarks about me and this website
From a Canadian "humanist" who supports an inhuman dictator
Hi there, I am not going to spend much time
on this email as there is not much point with you, clearly when you look at the
content of your website, you send out a clear message of being anti-Castro and
therefore also anti-Cuba.
I came to your webpage long before I went to
Cuba and I viewed each and every page you have, each picture, every story,
video, audio, in English or in Spanish as I speak 5 fluent languages including
Spanish.
I left myself open to expecting in Cuba, what
you report to be the case on your website and not only are you either working on
dated information and are not aware of this or you are intentionally trying to
mislead people. Let me be clear about a few things before you draw your own
conclusions about me, unfairly, before knowing the facts. First of all I am a
Humanitarian
and I work year round to bring
Humanitarian Aid to Cuba, for the Cuban people. I do not bring my AID to
organizations like the Cruz Roja which will then turn around and sell the piece
of clothing in a store, as I've heard, instead, through my many friends, I have
many various connections straight to the source in order to get the AID to
ordinary Cubans. On my last Humanitarian Mission, I handed out 100% of the AID
myself.
For example, when gassing up at a gas station
I got into a nice conversation with a local man who seen the Canadian Flags on
both sides of our car. I asked him if he needed anything or if he was hungry as
we were stopped for food. He said thank you, but he'd eaten and said he couldn't
really think of anything he needs. I took a look down and noticed his shoes
shown the wear of age and time and that his show size was about the same as
mine, so I handed him my Timberland shoes, which he tried on and fitted him
perfectly. He cried when he embraced us as we left and everyone at the gas
station wove to us as we left and when we returned through the same town on our
way from Havana back to Cayo Coco, we were greeted like I've never seen before -
We had become the talk of the town by doing something I had fully intended on
doing anyway. I don't know one single Cuban friend of ours who hasn't been able, at one point or another to travel out of Cuba, in fact, every Cuban friend I have, 30+ total all over the island, except one, has been to the United States at least once, did not like the country and it's ways - I could not believe how many of my Cuban friends have in fact left the island as I was brainwashed into thinking Cuban's couldn't travel! Tell that to Jorge, my best friend who just came back with his gay partner from a European holiday for 4 weeks. He doesn't have a cushy job, in fact, he doesn't work at all! I could never afford that kind of trip myself! But of course because of your website, I kept asking my Cuban friends when I clearly seen that information I had been given on Cuba were actually either false wholly or misunderstood. OK, let me try to understand the "burrada" that you are saying here. The average salary in Cuba is less than US$20 a month. Your gay friend and his partner spent 4 weeks in a European holiday that would have cost a minimum of US $10,000 to $15,000. The average Cuban would have to save his entire salary for 60+ years in order to take such a vacation! And your gay friend doesn't even work!! Here is what I suggest to solve this mystery: Next time you are in Cuba, ask your gay friend if by any chance his partner's name is Raul. I read recently that Raul Castro took a European holiday and visited several countries, including Spain and Italy. If it is not Raul, then maybe your friend is not “working” in a regular job, but is “entertaining” those foreigners who go to Cuba to practice sexual tourism. Those sex deviates pay in hard currency. None of my Cuban friends have or had any desire to "flee" Cuba whilst they were abroad. Heck, I don't blame them! Who would want to leave a place where you don't need to work and still have money to take a 4 week vacation in Europe? Now, after I publish your letter, I would suspect that there are going to be millions of American and Canadian "rafters" jumping on anything that floats to get to Cuba, the only country where you don't need to work and still can afford to take a 4 week European holiday! One of my friends Douglas, who is a Cuban born, Jamaican with dual nationality like I have with Canada and the EU. He said he chooses Cuba because of how dangerous his ancestral country is. I know what he means, I have travelled throughout Jamaica and was very nervous on those travels. I offered him the opportunity to switch jobs with me, I take his Life Saver job on the beach resort and the 30 CUC he gets a month, for my life and everything that goes with it in Canada, simply alone because of the Cuban people and the way they are. The most dignified, proud, gregarious and gracious people I have come across. I have been on all continents but the arctics. It is incredible how many foreigners who go to Cuba claim that they fall in love with the “wonderful Cuban people,” but at the same time continue to support the brutal dictator who is enslaving and exploiting them. With friends like that, you don't need any enemies.
Douglas said he'd have to refuse my offer
because it would involve leaving Cuba which he did not want to do. Can I also be clear that these conversations were not in the presence of the "mass police presence" of pictures you show on your website? I especially loved the parts of your websites which discussed how you will be followed, and how your every move is monitored and reported - If that's the case, I should have more than one Multa for driving alone. As in, he was not, nor were any of my other Cuban friends twisted to say something a certain way for fear of being "exposed" as you put it on one of your pages. I don’t know whether I should call you naïve or dumb. According to what you are saying here, your “Cuban friends” are for the most part Jamaicans, Canadians, gays with unlimited travel privileges and Cubans who are living a very different life from that of the average Cuban. Why would they follow you when you do not represent any threat to the regime? What I have always referred to in the realcuba.com is the threats, violent detentions and forced deportations of foreigners who have gone to Cuba to take photos of the real conditions in the island or to support dissidents like the Ladies in White. And I have also reported the repression of the regime against any Cuban who asks for change or who expresses his or her dissatisfaction with the totalitarian regime. They love tourists like you, who brings them money and unqualified support. You mention on your website that Racism in Cuba is a problem! I wonder, is that report from prior to 1959? Because that is a complete farce, to state that Blacks and Cuban's are treated differently - I know better from having both Black Cuban friends and Cuban friends. To suggest otherwise is an insult to the great work that has been done to make everyone equal, after hundreds of years of only certain people being equal or valuable enough. You began your letter by saying that you started visiting this website “long before” you went to Cuba for the first time. That means that you had never been in Cuba, and probably didn’t even know where it was, until 3 years ago. What is an insult is for a foreigner like you, who went to Cuba as a tourist and whose “Cuban friends” are for the most part foreigners or Cubans with special privileges, to consider yourself an “expert” on Cuba. You say that great work has been done to make “everyone equal.” I will have to ask again: Why did you have to give your shoes to that poor Cuban? Why doesn’t everyone in Cuba wear nice shoes like the Castro brothers, their gang of thieves and their relatives? In an island where the majority of the population is black or mulatto, how many blacks are in a position of power? Look at other islands in the Caribbean and you’ll see black leaders either in charge or holding high positions in the government. But in Cuba the Castro brothers, Laje, Perez-Roque, Alarcon, and anyone else in any position of power is lily white. Also, how many blacks do you see working at tourist resorts? Not many, because the regime knows that most foreigners who visit Cuba prefer to be serviced by white Cubans. You show pictures of so called Cuban homes, the worst pictures apparently that you were able to get because they do not even remotely reflect the homes I have been in, which belong to ordinary Cubans, including 10 Cuban friends who would not have the privilege and honour to live in their beautiful Miramar home if it were not for Castro giving those 10 friends families their homes, which belonged to the rich and powerful before ONLY My God, have you ever had your IQ checked? If your friends live in stolen mansions in Miramar, it is because they are part of the high hierarchy of the Cuban regime. Your friends are part of the brutal system that has been oppressing and exploiting the Cuban people for 50 years. And you call yourself a “humanist’? What a joke. And let me tell you and your friends, that there is nothing honorable about living in a stolen house. By the way, when are you going to give your house to a homeless family in Canada or in the EU? It is hypocritical of you to be in favor of a regime that steals homes from their legitimate owners, unless you are willing to give your house to a poor family and move underneath a bridge. I visited 3 normal hospitals, 1 in Havana, 1 San Jose and the 3rd in Ciego De Avilla - None of these hospitals showed even slightly the images you display - One of my friends who is a nurse told me that she has never heard so much bullshit and she told us she frequently travels to hospitals and clinics throughout Cuba. I'll take her word over anyone else's, she works in the industry! What are “normal” hospitals? Those who only admit foreigners like you? Give me the names of the hospitals that you visited and I’ll be glad to check them with real Cuban experts, like Dr. Darsi Ferrer. He is a Cuban doctor who has been jailed and beaten many times for taking videos and photos of the terrible conditions in Cuban hospitals. I am very proud to have many of those photos in therealcuba.com The ambulances in all cases were brand new Mercedes ambulances, the hospital's spick and span clean – I wouldn’t doubt it. Based on what you have said here, your Cuban friends are part of Cuba’s new class. They are parasites, like that gay friend of yours, who are sucking the blood, sweat and tears of ordinary Cubans, who have to work like slaves and still cannot buy enough food to feed their families, while your unemployed gay friend is able to travel in Europe for 4 weeks. And then to come here and claim that everyone in Cuba is “equal,” shows that your brain cells are also “unemployed.”
Their services damn good for a 3rd world
country, I lived in Costa Rica and if I had to pick between the two, I'd pick
Cuba! Why? Because in Havana, no matter where we walked, my husband and I, hand in hand even, at night, in the darkest ally's, we found ordinary Cubans in Centro Havana with their front doors wide open, not the gates closed They have the doors wide open because only those parasite friends of yours, who live in stolen mansions in Miramar, have access to air conditioners. I was impressed with how clean Havana was for its size and for the facts that it is a 3rd world country and on top of that, oppressed relentlessly by the US Government to depose a leader they claim to be a criminal! Fidel, if he's so evil and so wicked, can you explain to me why in monitored elections, including the last one with Jimmy Carter present, he called the elections free and fair, pissing off the US Government like there was no tomorrow. Naturally. I’m sorry to have to say it, but you are a moron! Jimmy Carter has never monitored any “free and fair” election in Cuba because there has never been one in 50 years. Like we say in Cuba, “Tu has oido campana y no sabes donde.” The Carter Center went to monitor elections in countries in Central and South America, but not in Cuba.
Here in Canada, we believe that the destiny
of people and their country should be left up to them, not to other countries
who only have an interest to suit their needs. Fact is, prior to the Revolution
Cuba was more or less occupied by the US Government, it's policies which favored
only itself, not the Cuban's or Cuba. You also mention so often how people are "forced" to flee the island etc - What about all those people doing exactly the same from Jamaica or Haiti to name just two in the region! Also, how about the over 12 million that are there? Socotroca, what you need to ask yourself is: How many people were fleeing Cuba before your idol came to power? Before Castro, the flow of people was only one way, from other countries into Cuba, and since then it has been also one way, but out of Cuba. The reason why there are still 11 million Cubans in Cuba is because Cuba is an island and it is very hard to leave. If Cuba had frontiers with other countries, the only ones left in Cuba would be the Castro brothers and your rich parasite friends. Also, to dispose of a freely elected leader is something only the US Governement can advocate; for them to have even planned to kill the leader of a a foreign nation points to who the real aggressor is here! Canadian's are not stupid and that is part of the reason Canada never once questioned our relationship with Cuba when it went from Brutal-Murderous Dictator Batista to Castro. I would never say that all Canadians are stupid, because I know some very intelligent ones and because I try not to generalize, but there is no doubt in my mind that you are. To say that Castro or his brother is a “free elected leader” has to be a joke or a very stupid statement. Since you say that this letter is not a joke, then I would have to conclude that it is a very stupid statement. Perhaps you should be aware of how the electoral system works in Cuba, it would be so much more benficial for your website to carry these facts as they real and tangible, otherwise your doing yourself a disservice because anyone, like myself and my husband will know differently, the second we leave the resort. The information provided in this website is directed to people who have a brain and can think for themselves. Obviously, you and your husband do not fit that category. I cannot waste my time explaining the “electoral system” in Cuba because it doesn’t exist. There is only one party, and only one candidate. For 49 years you could choose between Fidel Castro or Castro, Fidel. And now you can choose between Raul Castro or Castro, Raul. There is no more explaining required for any person with an IQ higher than a cucumber. By the way, since you said at the beginning of the letter that you gave your shoes to a Cuban man, I thought that you were a man. Now you are talking about your "husband" so I guess that you are a woman. It is hard to tell nowadays. You say that Human Rights are being violated in Cuba? Absolutely! The thousands of Cubans, who have spent years in Castro’s Gulag for opposing his brutal regime, proves it. The thousands, who have died in front of a firing squad without a right to a free and fair trial, proves it. The fact that Cubans are not allowed to read free newspapers, like you do, connect to the Internet, like you can, listen to different point of views, like you do, criticize your government, like you can, proves it. The 2 million Cubans, who had to flee the island looking for freedom, proves it. I just find it rather unusual how much time you invest in providing false information, to hopefully people you feel will be scared away from Cuba I just find it rather unusual that a foreigner, who considers herself a “humanist,” would invest so much time defending a brutal dictator who is responsible for the murder of thousands of Cubans, for the jailing of countless of others, for the separation of the Cuban family and the destruction of the Cuban nation. You, lady, are not a humanist, you are an ignorant and hypocritical person, who thinks that she has the right to live in freedom, while at the same time support a brutal dictator who denies the same freedom that you enjoy to 12 million Cubans. With “humanists” like you, the whole human race would disappear. Your plan, if that is what it is, is not working very well and ordinary citizens of the world, like myself, who have been there and seen it with my own two eye's, know's enough Cuban's in Cuba to know better and at the end of the day, we shared many laughs, myself, my husband and our various Cuban friends that we spent a lot of time with as I described some of the things you put on this website. Regards, Dieter Doneit-Henderson Humanitarian It is not surprising that you, your husband and your “Cuban friends” would laugh at the suffering and exploitation of 11 million Cubans at the hand of one brutal tyrant. After all, what therealcuba.com represents is the real Cuba, and unfortunately, you and your “Cuban friends” would never know, or much less live, in the real Cuba. So keep laughing at the pain and suffering of those who are oppressed and exploited by tyrants, while calling yourself a “humanist.” That is what is really laughable. George Just a normal human being Acts of Evil Thank you for giving a voice to those who are not allowed to speak. I wrote a poem that was "inspired" by the environment of countries such as Cuba....... I dedicate it to those who suffer... Acts of Evil I looked into the eyes of those who hate….I am not allowed to see I cried over the senseless death of the innocent…..I am not allowed emotion I smelled the blood of those passed in terror….I am not allowed my senses I am here among the dead and the dying….I am not allowed to mourn My tears mix with the blood of my father….I am not allowed his love I cannot move, for the weight of the dead are upon me….I am not allowed freedom I feel my body leaving the destruction of this life behind…..I am not allowed hope I want to be free of this senseless hate….I am not allowed to love I scream for my own salvation….I am not allowed to speak I wait for the darkness to comfort me….I am not allowed to hope I wait for the peace of death….I am allowed to die Kimberly Heck Concerned about the health care system Hello, I'm deeply concerned with the situation of Cuba, primarily the health care system. Oh, the great and wonderful free health care for Cubans in Cuba. It is such a shame how ignorant fools try to portray Cuba as a paradise of good music and happy faces, and above all universal health care for it's Cuban Citizens! How dare they compare Cuba's monstrous necessity and fallen country to great powers like England and France. I pray for my poor fellow Cubans and for those who have died serving "his" malevolent cause. I wish to help in any way that I possibly can and I'm sincerely grateful for the "TheRealCuba.com" website. People choose to act blind, as a way of ignoring or bettering tragic occurrences. Sincerely, Diana Tell me where the money is Seriousley the worst US Government-bullshit I've ever read. This is where some of the many million dollars that the US Government uses to spread anti-Castro material goes. Understand what socialism is before you hate it just like every other capitalist adict in this world Tollef Graff Hugo Seriously, if the US is paying for this website, then please tell me where I need to go to get the money, because it hasn't gotten to me yet. Since you sound like a CIA operative, you should know where I need to go to get those checks. Otherwise, get a life moron A video of an Argentinean who saw the real Cuba Good morning George, always read your webpage. Below I send you a YouTube video which I believe you will appreciate. It relays an honest view of an Argentinean who traveled to Cuba and gives you his opinion, which is what we all already knew. Keep up the good work. The only thing I am against is the travel restrictions which Cuban families face, and which I totally disagree with. Gerry http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=E7rbtxRtm0s An incredible malicious feedback I want to commend The Real Cuba for publishing such an incredible malicious feedback as the one from the German Comandante Thomas. The Germans have a good saying: Der Ton macht die Musik. Thomas's tone is the one of a former Stasi (ex-G.D.R.'s feared secret police equivalent to Castro's G2) commander suffering from the condition known as Ostalgia. He now dances to the music played by the Castros' wolves orchestra. The drum sound in this evil music is the echo of the shots fired by border guards of the German Democratic Republic who killed fellow citizens trying to flee into West Germany. Ostalgia combined with a bottle of Havana Club Thomas drinks every day in his new paradise causes him to take the time to write such insulting lies and ignore Cubas reality in the most irrational manner.
